Barrow, Alaska is a city located in the North Slope Borough of the U.S. state of Alaska. According to 2005 Census Bureau the overall population of the city was estimated at only 4,218. Barrow, Alaska takes its existing name from Point Barrow, which was named for Sir John Barrow of the British Admiralty in 1825, before this it was known as Ukpiagvik by the Inuit’s who lived there.
